dodocase x ball and buck

b&b1

i’ll be honest, i had another post queued up today, but then i checked my inbox and saw this beauty from dodocase x ball and buck.  i’ve owned 2 ipads and 1 ipad mini and all 3 of those puppies have been well secured in their very own dodocase.  i don’t trust any other company with my ipads (how television commercial does that sound).  the only difference between the dodocase currently holding my ipad mini and this one is the camo and the price.  these will run an extra $10, but what’s $10 when you have the dopest looking ipad case around.  get one here before they’re all gone.

my 2013 wishlist

i’ve had this post in mind since the end of january.  i can’t remember what caused the delay, but i’m glad i’m finally getting around to it.  i thought it would be fun to make a wish list for 2013 to see if a) i could save some money and b) stick to a list.  i would like to think that each of these items is attainable over this calendar year, but one depends on a band’s touring schedule which i have absolutely no control over.

wishlist1

a leather jacket: no, i’m not having a midlife crisis (i’m only 32).  i’ve wanted a leather jacket since i was old enough to listen to rock and roll.  i’ve come to the realization that i couldn’t pull off a schott perfecto one star like the ramones wore, so i’ll probably stick to something like the above todd snyder joint.

2006 Coachella Music Festival - Day 1

daft punk in concert:  their new album drops at the end of this month.  have you heard “get lucky” yet?  if not, then you have been living under a rock.  it’s f’ing amazing.  i’m going to guess that they’ll play a few dates in support of the new record, but who knows for sure since they’re since they’re so damn secretive.  if i have to travel to paris to see them, then so be it.  i’m in.

wishlist3

gibson flying v guitar: again, i am not having a midlife crisis.  i love guitars.  they are pieces of art (and they’re great to show off when you have babes over).  the flying v has been on my radar ever since i saw noel gallagher play one in the video for “d’you know what i mean.”  and yeah, i still love oasis in case you were curious.

wishlist4

sam cooke live at the harlem square club on vinyl: this is the single greatest live album ever recorded.  period.  (post on why coming soon.)  if you don’t own it, download it immediately.  no one beats sam cooke – especially on vinyl.

what’s on your wish list for 2013?

essential: swiss army pocket knife

i’ve had my swiss army pocket knife since i was a sophomore in high school.  i had the classic red one before this one, but was forced to throw it away upon entering a lynyrd skynyrd concert (i’m sure security confiscated much worse that night).  my dad never leaves home without his.  he’s always the hero when someone has a loose string on their jacket or shirt or needs help cutting ribbon on christmas.  i’m not saying you need to carry one at all times, but it’s essential to have one close by during the holidays when you need a little extra to open that well-taped package.  they also make great stocking stuffers.

free & easy: how to be a rugged man

my new copy of free & easy just arrived at my office.  this month’s issue is “how to be a rugged man.”  it might be easier to learn how to be a rugged man if i could read japanese, but that won’t stop me from enjoying the pictures.  obviously you can’t have a “how to be a rugged man” issue of anything without steve mcqueen.  here are a few pages that caught my eye upon first skim-through (be sure to click read more).

christmas loot

my wife got me a filson briefcase for christmas.  i love it.  it was about time to retire the oversized black monster work provided me with.

she got me the 256 model which is the original.  a lot of people wonder if they can get their computer in there and my 15-inch dell (for work) and 15-inch mac ( for play) fit like a glove.  there’s no padding in it so you can’t throw it around, but why would you need to.  it’s got two big pockets inside and two pockets outside for extra document storage.  it’s the perfect bag for me.  i wouldn’t do much bigger.
