hoof pick belt round up

the new year is a great time to pick up a new belt.  if you’re trying to lose the extra pounds you added during the holidays, buy one in the size you’d like to be in a few months.  #menswear is the ultimate motivator.  i’m a big fan of the hoof pick belt.  it’s a nice alternative to the sid mashburn joint i’ve been rocking for the past year.  i found a few of my favorites at different price ranges.  from top to bottom: apolis, hickorees, the knottery, and orvis.

you can’t go wrong with any of those.

to take the train tailgating style part 1

stealing a page straight from the red clay soul book of style (see below), i bring you to take the train tailgating style part 1.  like rcs, i’m keeping it simple while it’s still hot.

uga cutter & buck polo: never wear a t-shirt to tailgate.  if you want to show your pride on your shirt, opt for a clean looking polo with a small logo instead.

apc petite standards: i never leave home without them and they’re still dark enough to mask whatever i spill (i don’t wear shorts if i’m not at the beach or on the golf course).

sid mashburn bridle strap belt & engraved belt buckle: my favorite buckle and belt strap.

clarks desert boots: my go-to kicks when i can’t decide between sneakers and loafers.

moscot nebb sunglasses: cause everyone else will be wearing wayfarers.

now in black

it took everything in my power not to say back in black, but after 114 years, filson is now offering some of their most popular products in black.  it’s funny i would have thought they were making black belts and wallets for years now.  i guess not.  they’ve also added a wool peacoat to their lineup.  in all honesty, i’m partial to my grey mackinaw cruiser, but it’s always nice to have options.

debuting saturdays this fall

i walked into my office after lunch yesterday and saw a strange wooden box sitting on my desk.  paying no attention to the logo, i opened it up and much to my surprise found this needlepoint belt.  in all honesty, i’ve never been a huge fan of these belts, but since it has such a beautiful logo on it i can’t resist its charm.  it will be perfect for saturdays this fall.  thanks for the belt, dad.
