the blues
muddy waters – start with the double disc anthology
i love the blues. they’re the foundations of rock and roll. i’m not talking about white boy blues aka the kind of sh*t you find at your city’s blues bar or in a high school band. i’m talking about the blues that came out of chicago in the 1950s and 1960s. i’m talking about muddy waters and little walter and willie dixon. a lot of my friends claim they don’t like the blues, but that’s because they haven’t been exposed to the real thing. i played bo diddley in my car a couple of weeks ago and one of my buddies said, “this sounds like rock and roll.” exactly.
taking a break from the norm on here, i wanted to post a few pictures of some of my favorite blues artist. if you’re looking for a good entry place to the genre, start with these guys. you can’t lose.
