black jeans
it’s been a while since i posted something. i know you’ve been waiting with bated breath to see what’s coming next. i promise i’m going to do all i can to make the posts more frequent and that starts…tonight. yeah! without further ado…
black is a tricky color for menswear enthusiast. if it’s done poorly, you come across as either a guy who’s trying too hard to look “fashionable” (see dudes at olive garden on valentines day) or a guy who’s trying too hard to be “music business” (see most of nashville). those two reasons are why i had reservations about ever owning a pair of black jeans. the truth is when done properly they can be an essential piece of your every day wardrobe. i bought a pair before i went to paris this summer because i thought they seemed somewhat parisian. i don’t think anyone misidentified me as a local (could have been the fanny pack or socks with sandals), but they were easy to travel with i.e. you can dress them up or down. they’ve since been a weekly wear. i tend to rock with a plaid or chambray shirt. i also don’t give a rip if i’m wearing them with brown desert boots (now to tell you once again who’s bad). if you’ve been thinking about pulling the trigger on a pair, but have been scared to for whatever reason, here are two options for a test run: a.p.c. washed denim (above left) and j. crew garment dyed jeans (above right). the j. crew version are a much better price, but you know them ladies like the way i look in them a.p.c.s. #nahmean
